St Ursula’s wants to save lives
The school is very proud of the many learners and teachers who donated blood at a recent blood drive.
Saint Ursula’s Catholic School recently held a blood drive in an effort to help save lives.
This Serviam initiative was coordinated by the school’s Deputy Head Girl, Mimi Mlilo.
“Blood is what keeps us alive. Since there is no way to manufacture blood artificially in large volumes, the only way to source it is through the acts of selfless blood donors,” said Cathy Harrison from the school.
“By becoming a blood donor, you are giving the gift of life, and since less than one per cent of South Africans donate blood, every drop counts.”
The school is very proud to have had many learners and teachers donating a total of 27 units, which could save at least 82 lives.
“We are very proud of Mimi – she did such a wonderful job. We would like to thank her for her Serviam project.” Cathy concluded.
