#CaxtonCares – got a pair of takkies lying around?

Aim is to gather at least 500 pairs of takkies.

Caxton Joburg West is teaming up with Adielah Johnson, the runner-up in the Get It Face of the Spar Women’s Race competition, in an initiative that will make a huge difference.

The News and Adielah urges all athletes, joggers and everyday sports enthusiasts to donate their unwanted running shoes that are still in good condition.

“When I ran the Spar Race last year, I noticed that a lot of the runners ran barefoot, and, this year, we would like to collect any and all takkies and running shoes to donate to these up and coming runners.” Adielah said that as a runner, she knows just how important it is to have pair of takkies in which to run and train. “I believe that we can collect at least 500 pairs of takkies in our region, which will enable us make a huge difference,” she said.

Donations can be dropped off at the Caxton office, on the corner of Generaal Pienaar Avenue and Ham Street, Witpoortjie.
