One arrested after stabbing a man and leaving him for dead
The victim spent 10 days in hospital where after he reported the crime to local police.
A 21-year-old suspect was arrested in Swanieville last week after he and his accomplice allegedly attacked and robbed a man before stabbing him. This happened in August.
The man told police that he was about to enter his home when the two men, whom he knew, appeared, greeted and approached him. One of them suddenly drew a knife and charged at him. They manhandled and pick-pocketed their victim and took cash.

“Once they had robbed him, the assailant with the knife stabbed the victim in the upper body a few times. He was later rushed to the local hospital in a serious condition, and was discharged from hospital only 10 days later.
He then reported the matter to Kagiso Police,” Kagiso Police spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya said in a media statement.
One suspect was traced and eventually apprehended, and charged with attempted murder and robbery. His accomplice is still on the run and Kagiso Police are hot on his heels.
The 21-year-old suspect made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody for a formal bail application.
