Two murders a day apart in Muldersdrift

A man was stabbed and a woman gunned down.

Two people lost their lives in Muldersdrift during the past few days and police are appealing to the community for help.

The first murder occurred on Sunday, 16 September at the Peacock informal settlement.

According a report by police spokesperson, Constable Slindile Ntuli, an argument between two men led to an assault. A man, aged 45, tried to intervene to stop the fight, but was stabbed in the upper body by two men.

The victim unfortunately died in hospital, but the suspects, aged 20 and 22, were arrested and will appear in court soon.

The other murder occurred in Diswilmar on Monday, 17 September.

A woman, 39, was outside her house making fire while her two friends were inside the house cooking.

“They suddenly heard gun shots and found their friend on their ground with a gunshot wound to her upper body. The woman died on the scene. The motive for the crime is unknown,” Ntuli said.

Muldersdrift Police are appealing to the community to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of those involved in the crimes.
