He was paying unauthorised expenses and making unauthorised loans to staff.

Daniel Jacobus Luis from Rockfarm in Hekpoort was recently found guilty of theft by the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

On 17 July, 2017, a case of theft was opened at the Hekpoort Police Station after a large amount of cash was stolen.

The docket was assigned to detective Constable Qoboza for investigation. Through his investigation, he found that the accused was a manager at a local garage.

“He was paying unauthorised expenses and making unauthorised loans to staff. He also fabricated supporting evidence for cash held and lied to various members of management,” Constable Gloria Maswanganye, Hekpoort Police spokesperson said.

The accused was found guilty and was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

The acting station commander, Captain VJ Mlambo, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, applauded the detective’s team and motivated them to continue working towards reaching their expectations.
