Jealous ex-lover kidnaps woman
In an attempt to reconcile, a jealous ex-lover kidnapped his former girlfriend.
“Violence against women in Kagiso will be dealt with in an effort to discourage those who undermine the law,” said Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso police.
According to a woman, after her child was collected by school transport on 9 October at 7.30am, her 33-year-old ex-boyfriend appeared out of nowhere and demanded that she go to his house with him.
She agreed, but upon arrival he locked the door and ordered her to his bedroom.
There he begged her to reconsider and to reconcile with him. But when she refused, he hit her repeatedly and threatened her with a knife.

The man then decided to call her new boyfriend and forced her to end the relationship over the phone.
Her new boyfriend knew something was off and phoned the woman’s mother who then decided to go to the man’s house. When she got there, she found her daughter and managed to save her from the man.
Police then started their search for him. He was apprehended on 22 October after returning to the house where he held the victim.
He will appear in court on kidnapping and assault charges soon.
