Mud, rain and some 4×4 fun

Nothing could keep these 4x4 enthusiasts from having some fun.

While the rain caused most people to stay indoors at a recent 4×4 charity event, it just made the day more fun for the drivers.
Kosmos Lodge’s Freemasons and Boys and Girls Town again hosted their annual 4×4 fun day at Hobby Park in Noordheuwel.
Thirty children from the Girls and Boys Town’s Magalies and Randfontein branches joined the drivers on the day.

According to Andries Wilke from Kosmos Lodge, they do not only host this day to raise funds but also to lift the children’s spirits and give them a fun outing.

The 13 contestants that entered had to overcome 17 gruelling obstacles, as well as a lot of mud and some rain.
The entrance fees for the 4×4 competition all went to Girls and Boys Town, and the children who joined in on Sunday all got to have a fun day out and a lunch.
The winner of the drive was Riaan Marius de Klerk. He won a weekend away for two at Magalies River Lodge. Second place went to Martin Harber, who also won a weekend for two but at a Protea Hotel. In third place was Chrysteel Holder, who won a Lite Optec jump-start kit.

James Webster, Damian Ceronio, Jamie Ceronio and Ross Pitchers all participated in their 4x4s.

Other prizes were sponsored by Klippenbosch, Lasser Tools, Askari Game Lodge, Lite Optec, Golfino Fashions, Tupperware, Game Trackers, Amrod Corporate, Stafford Corporate, Stafford Brothers and Draeger.
