Community members threatened to invade a property that Mogale City bought for R18 million from an alleged associate of the previous ANC mayor, on the same day he bought it for R6,4 million.
The community wanted to know what happened to the money that was supposed to be used for rural housing.
He could not answer straight away but promised to give them answers tomorrow.
According to a Facebook post by Amanda de Langa from the Freedom Front Plus (FF+), bulldozers have opened up the roads for residents of Hekpoort. Protesters have prevented residents from leaving their properties since Saturday.
“The ANC’s Gauteng Provincial MEC of CoGTA, Uhuru Moiloa, must answer why they bought an unsuitable dolomitic property in Tarlton for R63 million if it is worth only R2,9 million. What did they do with the other R60 million? Every election year we see the ANC making wild promises to voters but not deliver on it. The ANC should follow their own ‘consequence management’ drive and act against their own rogue politicians and officials,” said De Lange.
