“Information provided will be treated with a high level of confidentiality, and informants will be protected,” said Lieutenant Kruger.

Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police pointed out other successes that the group has had with cases of attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of unlicensed firearms, then stated that “the team prides itself on such breakthroughs. All this success is a result of the good working relationship they have with the community”.

With the festive season fast approaching, Kruger warned against withdrawing large sums of money this year.
“It is advisable to always be vigilant, to transfer money into workers’ accounts and to avoid carrying large amounts of cash,” Kruger said.
