Sector 5 CPF ends their year on a high note

CPF Sector 5 had their last general meeting for 2018.

The Krugersdorp Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) had their last general meeting for the year on 27 November, where they discussed their new initiative which helps the loved ones of the deceased in the community.

When someone dies they will hold a vigil by travelling to the family’s home and presenting them with a bouquet of flowers.

Constable Buthi Sithole, sector manager for Sector 5 CPF.

They were also the ones who were on scene when the house in Engelbrecht Street almost burnt down a few weeks ago. After this encounter, the sector has decided they want to build their own water tank for emergencies. At the moment, all they need is an old trailer and a plastic tank to store water in.

According to statistics they have had 11 new members join their sector since the interim Executive Committee took over the sector. They also asked the members and public to be vigilant during this festive season and to tell someone when they go away on holiday.

Their sector manager, Constable Buthi Sithole, thanked all the patrollers for their hard work and asked them to be careful when patrolling during December.

They have also introduced a new drug line and anyone who knows of, sees, or suspects that a drug transaction is taking place in their area can send a SMS to 062 027 4106 and they will forward it to authorities.

For their Christmas initiative, they will be collecting food and also taking donations to the elderly in the area.
