Officers from Tarlton caught one suspect believed to be involved in the hijacking of a truck on the N14. The other suspects are still at large.
The Tarlton Police successfully arrested a 43-year-old man Sunday, 9 December, after a truck was hijacked on the N14 in Tarlton.
The truck was allegedly travelling from Kempton Park to Namibia and was carrying bath and washing soap of an unknown value.
According to witnesses, the truck was followed on the N14 by a BMW that allegedly flashed blue lights to get the driver to stop.

The truck then stopped near a shop along the N14. Two suspects, allegedly wearing police reflector jackets, pointed a firearm at the driver, who got out of the vehicle and was taken to a getaway vehicle. They drove away with him and later dropped him in Olievenhoutbosch, where local security took him to the police station.
The suspects also dumped the two women who were in the truck. They asked for help at a nearby shop, where an off-duty police officer assisted them.
The Visible Policing Unit’s members reacted swiftly and with the help of the two passengers could identify the truck and give chase.
The suspects collided with a tree and tried to flee on foot. One started shooting at the police but luckily no injuries were reported. One suspect was arrested after a chase but the others are still at large.
