The programme employs 1 000 members of the community, of which about 200 are scholars.

Members participate in numerous projects, which include street sweeping, graveyard maintenance, school maintenance, teacher assistance, clearing of storm-water drains, building of vegetable gardens, local economic development and various social programmes.

About 2 000 participants were expected to join in on the event, gathering in the streets to march down to the Munsieville Sports Complex at 8am where they spent most of the rest of the day.

The event fell well within the nationwide 16 Days of Activism campaign which sought to increase awareness about violence against women and children.
