Women put the ‘pow’ in ‘power’

The workshop was hosted by WOW (Woman of the Westrand), Maximum Training Facilities and a Krav Maga instructor.

Fourteen women who are serious about their safety put the ‘pow’ in ‘woman empowerment’ when they attended a Woman’s Self-defence workshop.

The workshop was hosted by Woman of the Westrand (WOW), Maximum Training Facilities and a Krav Maga instructor.

The event was subsequently organised by Paul, Janet Booysen (a member of both WOW and Maximum Training Facilities) and Krav Maga instructor, Sensei Ian van Vuuren.

The workshop consisted of demonstrations, participation and role-play pertaining to basic abusive scenarios, which included anti-rape and various other attack techniques.

Since WOW is involved in many community projects, they thought it best to select the Cradle of Hope as their beneficiary. Money and women’s toiletries were collected and donated on the day to Sharon Lee from Cradle of Hope.
