Posts about starving lions allegedly fake
A source close to the claims say it's not true.
The News was informed of posts doing the rounds on Facebook about lions at the Krugersdorp Game Reserve on the verge of starving.
The posts claim that 18 lions are currently at the reserve and due to a food and funds shortage, the reserve cannot feed the lions. Posters are asking for any form of meat to help feed the supposedly hungry lions.
Another post said that Mogale City has taken over the management of the reserve and that they feed the lions on a bi-weekly basis.

It also says that if anyone would like to help these lions, they can phone Stephan du Toit.
The News contacted Du Toit who strongly denied everything being posted on Facebook.
“It’s fake and false,” Du Toit told the News. He would not elaborate any further.
Charmaine Booysens of the 9th Day Animal Shelter also commented saying the photos are old (from 2016) and that those lions were from a reserve in Limpopo.
The News also approached Mogale City spokesperson, Nkosana Zali for comment, who has not yet responded.
