Pedestrian in serious condition after accident

A young man was hit by a car and taken to hospital in a serious condition.

According to a report from ER24’s spokesperson, Russel Meiring, an 18-year-old man was knocked down by an SUV on Main Reef Road on Monday night, just after 10pm.

When paramedics arrived on the scene they found the man lying on the centre median next to the SUV. They assessed the man and found that he was in a serious condition.

He was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. Once he was stable, the ER 24 ambulance transported him to a private hospital for further care.

The driver of the SUV was not injured during the accident and local authorities are investigating the matter.
