For the past few days protesters have been gathering outside the Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital waiting for a response to concerns they have raised about the hospital.
The News received reports that the protest is disruptive and violent, but this is not entirely true.

Yesterday 4 March protesters stopped people from entering and leaving the hospital grounds but police opened the gates and today the protests are peaceful. Protesting union members are sprawled out on the grass in front of the hospital, waiting for senior members to bring them news about the negotiations.

Cars are being allowed to enter and leave the hospital grounds and patients are being allowed into the hospital for treatment.
Nurses outside the hospital told the News that skeleton staff members are keeping the hospital operational during the protest.
However, numerous vehicles are parked outside the hospital premises and on the pavements. They disrupt the flow of traffic and residents are advised to avoid the road outside the hospital for now.
The negotiations between management and union members have entered their second day and members outside the hospital say they are waiting to see the MEC for Health.
