Local tuckshop robbed by three men

A tuckshop employee was held up at gunpoint and robbed of money, airtime and cigarettes and several cellphones.

Police are currently looking for a burglary suspect who is still on the loose after robbing a tuckshop on the corner of Jones Street and Moorcroft Avenue.

On Monday, 11 March, a 34-year-old man was working behind the shop counter when three unknown men, two bearing firearms, came into the shop. The employee was held up at gunpoint while the three men took an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes, airtime and three cellphones.

The three men then locked the employee and a customer behind the counter, and fled the scene in a white Renault Sandero.

The police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
