Spray-happy at the Cansa Shavathon

Many donations were again gathered by Silverstar's staff during their collaboration with Cansa at the #shavathon event where plenty of eager volunteers and supporters partook in the fun.

For the past three years, Silverstar has been running an in-house project to collect funds in support of the fight against cancer.

On Friday and Saturday, 8 and 9 March, this event was opened to the public for the first time.

The public could choose to get a clean shave or have their hair sprayed all kinds of funky colours.

Children could partake in the fun. All proceeds went to Cansa in support of their operations.

During the two days, many people visiting Silverstar gathered to do their part, and the fundraiser was deemed a massive success.

With the event, the hope was to “raise awareness, and instill a spirit of hope in those affected by cancer, to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
