Sister takes police to brother’s murderers

A woman from Kagiso went to the police to report her brother's assault and identify the two men who attacked him.

The Kagiso Police arrested two men, aged 29 and 37, for murder on 19 March.

The sister of the murder victim reportedly went to the Kagiso Police Station where she wanted to report a case of grievous bodily harm after her brother had been assaulted.

She then led the police to the two suspects. They voluntarily confessed to the attack and were arrested.

The woman told the police her brother was assaulted two days prior, after the two men had accused him of stealing from residents in the area.

After the attack he was taken to a local hospital with severe head and body injuries. He died two days later in hospital.

The men have been charged with murder and have also appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court where they were remanded into custody for a formal bail application.
