Three Swanieville men, all aged 21, were arrested on the night of 25 March for allegedly robbing a man at gun-point 10 days before.
The man was allegedly walking down the street on 15 March when he noticed someone behind him. He was struck with a hard object and fell down. A group of men appeared and assaulted him, one of them armed with a firearm. They took his wallet with cash and fled the scene.

Although he was injured and bleeding, he managed to identify two of his attackers. He was subsequently taken to hospital and later reported the matter to the Kagiso Police where a case of robbery was opened.
The police launched an investigation and searched for three suspects. A tip-off from members of the community about the suspects’ whereabouts led to their arrest and detention at Kagiso Police Station.
They will appear in court briefly, facing the robbery-related charges.
“I was impressed and equally proud of my members’ swift response after receiving the tip-off. That was excellent service delivery,” Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Themba Maduna said.
