A man who was searching for his wife recently got much more than he expected.
He told the police that he was searching for her on 24 March at about 7pm. He went to another woman’s house to ask if she had seen his wife. While he was standing outside the gate the woman told him that she had not seen her.

Just as he was about to leave, the owner of the house invited him into the yard. As he entered the yard, the woman poured boiling water all over him, causing burn wounds to his upper body. The victim was admitted to hospital.
He later reported the matter to the Kagiso Police Station and a case for assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm was opened.
“The suspect was traced and eventually arrested at her residence. She was formally charged and appeared briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court,” said Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police.
