The Woman of the West Rand (Wow) organisation had its first get together breakfast for 2019 recently, with women from all over the West Rand gathering at Tony’s Spaghetti Grill at Heritage Square in Krugersdorp North.
The purpose of the breakfast was to raise funds to benefit the Just in Time Baby Sanctuary in Randfontein.
After everyone got acquainted, the morning was kicked off with a Zumba demonstration by Janine Canha from a local Zumba studio. The guests were invited to get up and dance along.

Then Georgina Caetano, the founder of the Sanctuary, told the women how she started the sanctuary three years ago.
She already has five children of her own but always felt that she was made to be a mother, to give love to children.
Babies go to the home when they are still infants and stay there until they are two years old. The organisation currently has nine babies in its care. The organisation is self-funded and needs help.

She told the crowd of a mother from Lenasia who phoned her recently to tell her that she does not want her baby. She is eight months pregnant and wanted the organisation to help her once the baby was born.
She went on to say that we do not always understand the situation these mothers find themselves in and that we need to try to help them.
The organisation is currently looking for new premises as the house they have been using is being sold.

Franco Leibrandt, a life coach, then spoke to the women about how to be their best selves, and how to achieve the dreams they have always had for themselves.
The guests then enjoyed a delicious breakfast, after which there were several lucky draws and prizes.
They also collected and donated various goods and money to the Sanctuary.
