Monnas school bus involved in wet road accident

A school bus was involved in a road accident this morning on the R28 from Randfontein to Krugersdorp.

Luipaardsvlei — En route to the school, a Monument High School bus with children on board was unable to come to a full stop when a heavy vehicle reportedly made a U-turn in front of it.

“The bus driver, André Koen, tried his best to bring the bus to a standstill on the wet road surface. The impact was, however, at the front, near the driver, and luckily, there were no serious injuries. Some of the children’s parents went to get them, and the rest were transported to school by another school bus,” said school principal, Johann Calitz.
