The Muldersdrift area has been plagued by crime recently, with yet another incident on Sunday, 7 April, at about 3am in Swartkop.
According to the Muldersdrift Police, a 53-year-old man was attacked when five people entered his home.
While he was sleeping in his bed, the robbers came into his house and overpowered him. They proceeded to assault him with a monkey wrench, hitting him in the upper body.

They then took electronic appliances and fled the scene.
The injured man was later taken to hospital to be treated, but the suspects are still at large.
“We are appealing to the community to assist us with any information regarding this crime,” said Constable Slindile Ntuli, the corporate communications officer for the Muldersdrift Police.
