According to a statement from the Kagiso Police, a 30-year-old man was arrested on 4 April, following a special operation in Central Kagiso.
A complainant had told the police that on 21 March at about 9pm, he was on his way to a friend’s house when two men confronted him.

“They aggressively demanded R100 from him,” said Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police.
According to the arrested man, the victim still owed him R100 for a cellphone that he had bought from the man.
The two men grew impatient, brandished knives and then grabbed the victim. They then took some cash out of the victim’s pockets while still holding a knife on him. Afterwards, they left on foot.
The matter was reported to the Kagiso Police and a case of armed robbery was opened.
