Munsieville man found with murder weapon

An investigation led the Krugersdorp police department to a murder weapon but not the murderer. They did however catch another person along the way.

A man who was found in possession of a murder weapon was arrested in Munsieville recently.

According to Captain Raymond Sebonyane, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp police, a man was stabbed in Mshenguville, Munsieville on 6 April at about 6am.

The 33-year-old victim was stabbed in his upper body and taken to hospital for treatment unfortunately he passed away in hospital later.

The Krugersdorp detectives followed up on the case and arrested a 30-year-old man.

“A preliminary investigation led the police to where the murder weapon was,” said Sebonyane.

The murder weapon was found in the man’s possession but the investigation revealed that he was not the man who stabbed the deceased in Mshenguville.

In fact the real murderer had given the knife to him.

The 30-year-old man will be charged with possession of the weapon that was used in the commission of a crime and defeating the ends of justice.

Sebonyane said the suspect will appear in front of the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon and the investigation continues.
