[TO DO] Great events for this weekend

There are a few great events lined up for this weekend. Take note!

What’s happening around town this weekend? Take a look here:

His Last Week

12 APRIL — His Last Week, a beautiful 60-minute Easter Devotional to unite the community through song and learn together about what Jesus Christ did during the last week of His life, takes place at 7pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 62 Paul Kruger Avenue, Monument. Entrance is free. Please bring canned food for the Tower of Life homeless shelter. For more details, contact Carla on 084 515 5561.

Easter Fun Drive

13 APRIL — The Community Policing Forum of Sector 4 presents an Easter Fun Drive and invites the community to join them as they hop through the community with the Sector 4 members, handing out Easter eggs to little ones. They will even have their own Easter bunny hopping along. You can also get involved by donating Easter eggs. Drop off your donation at their offices at the Anthos Shopping Centre (Monument Checkers) on Voortrekker Road. For more information, contact Sharday on 064 169 7922.

Cedar Tree Craft Market

14 APRIL — The popular market, at its new venue at the Khosa Sports Club, takes place from 10am to 3pm. There is no entrance fee. Secure parking is available and it’s pet-friendly! For more details contact, 081 5002 6884 or email westsidemarkets@gmail.com.

Hike the Koppies

14 APRIL — Join the three-koppie group hike of up to 8km or three hours through the Melville Koppies. Hike sets off 8.30am sharp. You can park in the top parking area at Marks Park in Judith Road, Emmarentia, then walk across Judith to the entrance opposite. Costs are R60 for adults and R40 for children – all donations are used to maintain the Koppies. Hikers must be fit with good balance as paths are rocky and steep. Children must be at least six years old. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Call Wendy Carstens on 011 482 4797 or visit https://www.mk.org.za.
