Looking for ways to keep your kids busy during Easter?

Staying home this Easter? Don't know how to keep the kids busy? We go you covered!

Coming up with ideas to keep your children busy this Easter might be difficult for some parents, but we have some great ideas to help you out.

Because we don’t want you stressing, here are some lovely ideas to keep your little ones busy as bees all through the break:

• Make a bunny-face flower pot

This adorable Easter decoration is very easy for kids to make and looks great. All you need is a 2-litre plastic bottle, some scissors, paints, glue and decorations. Simply draw the bunny outline from the bottom up, cut it out, make some drainage holes in the base and get the kids to paint and decorate it. And the nice thing about it is that you can store it for re-use every Easter.

• Be crafty

Let your kids’ creativity shine through with some easy-peasy, cheap and fun Easter crafts. From painting boiled eggs to making masks, your imagination is the limit when it comes to making Easter-themed goodies. You don’t have to stick to a theme – take things further by making robots or castles out of cardboard boxes and egg cartons, there are plenty of ways to turn everyday rubbish into crafty creations.

• Crafting Easter chicks

Making these cute little guys is extremely easy. All you need are eggs, paint, feathers and egg cartons. Firstly, hard boil the eggs. Then get the kids to cut up the egg cartons into individual chick bottoms, and paint them. When the eggs are cool and have been painted, pop them into their bottoms and add some eyes, a beak and of course some plumage as a final feathery flourish.

• Bake some goodies

Get baking for some egg-cellent fun this Easter as well as learning new cooking skills. The kids will have a whale of a time trying out their treats. To make things more exciting, why not hold a mini bake- off with friends? The kids can swap and try each other’s cakes, or even vote for the best cake.

If you find yourself baking more than you can eat, hold a fun bake sale to raise money for a local charity.

• Get sporty

Some of the best Easter activities for children involve sports, games and other outdoor activities. With all those Easter treats around, the holidays are a great time to work off some extra energy. Playing sports doesn’t have to mean joining a club or buying equipment, there is a plenty you can do for fun, totally free.

Create an obstacle course in the garden and hold races with prizes for the winner, or invent a ball game that involves the whole family.

Favourites like football and tennis are also great if you have the space and the equipment. Play a few games during the holiday, keep score, and congratulate the winners at the end.
