Woman raped heading back from church

A woman was heading home from church when she was confronted by two people.

Kagiso — A woman from Kagiso went through a horrendous ordeal during the Easter weekend and the police are asking the community to help them catch the perpetrators.

According to a statement from the Kagiso Police, the woman was walking home from church on 19 April at about 9pm.

She was alone and heading home on a footpath when two men, one of whom was armed, appeared out of nowhere.

They demanded her cash and cellphone then ordered her to an open space in Vlakfontein, near Tshepisong, where they raped her.

Afterward they took her handbag, which contained a Bible and a pair of sneakers, and fled the scene.
