One of them is armed and they usually attack between 4pm and 9pm.

“To date, more than three complaints have been lodged with the Kagiso Police since 19 April,” said Sibiya.

On 23 April at about 4pm, a woman and her child were crossing an open field from Tshepisong, heading to the Leratong taxi rank when they were attacked by two people.

“They pushed the victim to the ground and snatched her handbag. It contained the child’s clothes, certificates and ID book. They then fled the scene,” said Sibiya.

That very same day at 7.30pm, another woman was attacked while coming from work. She was waiting for her transport on the R41 next to the Leratong intersection when the two assailants showed up.

Once again the one was armed and demanded the woman’s handbag at gunpoint. Her handbag contained a head-set, her ID book, a bus ticket and her house keys.
