Robert Broom crime and safety visibility campaign highlights road death toll

Law enforcement officers have urged members of the community to work with them and not to share roadblock positions on social media.

Robert Broom Drive has seen a significant rise in the number of vehicle collisions caused by reckless and drunk driving in the last two months.

According to a Facebook statement made by the Sector 7 Community Policing Forum (CPF), approximately 12 lives were lost between March and April.

Thanks to the police, the Gauteng Provincial Traffic Department, Dowry, Apcan, and the Sector 4, 7 and 8 CPFs, a number of stop-and-search and visibility campaigns along this treacherous road have created much-needed awareness.

Law enforcement officers have further urged the members of the community to work with them and not to share roadblock positions on social media, as this will jeopardise crime prevention in the area.
