Crash landing on Hekpoort farm for WWII era plane
The circumstances leading to the aircraft coming down will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
A man in his sixties was reportedly forced to make an emergency landing on a farm near the N4 in Hekpoort with his Ryan Navion light aircraft on Thursday, 23 May, just before 10am.
Netcare 911 units responded to reports of the crash-landing, but the pilot declined to be transported to a hospital by an ambulance. He was assessed on the scene by paramedics but had not sustained any injuries.

The man was the only occupant of the airplane, and reportedly said that he had to land due to engine failure near a private airstrip.

The plane sustained some damage when it hit a tree during the landing. Netcare 911 reported that the circumstances leading to the aircraft coming down will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
