The attack happened yesterday, 30 May, just before 1pm in Cross Street, Breaunanda.
According to the woman, she was in the house with her child when she heard a loud bang outside. When she looked through the dining room window, she saw two men in the yard, running towards her door.
One of the men kicked down the door, and once inside they demanded valuables and threatened them.
The woman and her child were taken to the main bedroom and instructed to lie down on the floor. They were then covered with a blanket.
The men fled with jewellery, a cellphone, a laptop, a plasma TV and other goods.
It is not clear what vehicle the men used and the woman and her child were not injured in the attack.
“Police are appealing to the community to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of these crimals,” said Sebonyane.
