Laerskool Ebenhaeser learners recently had a visit from the Krugersdorp Police during Child Protection Week.

“The team interacted with the Grade R to Grade 3 children,” Captain Raymond Sebonyane, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police explained.

The team engaged with the children regarding the issue of their own safety, and they were told to report any instances of abuse or bullying.

“They were taught about the police emergency number, 10111 and there was a little competition for the children,” said Sebonyane.

The learners won backpacks during a small competition.

The children were asked questions about school safety and the winners won school backpacks and a raincoat.

The team also handed over six DVDs of Lulu and Friends to the school principal.

“The principal thanked the team and then he closed the presentation with a prayer,” said Sebonyane.
