Betrayal, beer and backstabbing – 19-year-old arrested

A man was rushed to hospital after being attacked by a young man because he did not want to share.

A 19-year-old man was arrested by the Kagiso Police on Saturday, 8 June, after he stabbed another person in the back.

The altercation apparently happened in Soul City after the two men had an argument at a shebeen earlier that day.

According to the victim, the 19-year-old suspect arrived at the shebeen and wanted to drink some of their beer. When the victim and his friend refused to share their drinks with him, he left the shebeen.

The victim and his friend later left the shebeen. On their way out, the young attacker came up behind them and stabbed the man in the back.

The man was rushed to the hospital in a stable condition and opened a case with the Kagiso Police after being released.

The attacker was later apprehended and arrested in Soul City.

A case of grievous bodily harm was registered with the Kagiso Police and the 19-year-old appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
