During an investigation into an armed robbery that was committed at a business in Steinsvlei, Muldersdrift, on Monday, 1 July, local police located and arrested four suspects in connection with the crime.
As previously reported, police believed that three suspects were involved, with one threatening the 51-year-old woman operating the shop with a firearm while two other robbers stole money, cigarettes, a television and multiple cellphones.

Sergeant Mosome interviewed one of the eyewitnesses again. The witness indicated that the getaway car was, in fact, not a navy blue Volkswagen Golf as previously indicated, but a navy blue BMW Ti model. Detective Warrant Officer Masango and Constable Lerefolo found the BMW at the Foodzone in Muldersdrift and informed Sergeant Mosome who was still at the scene of the crime.
Sergeant Mosome and the victim went to the Foodzone where the car was identified and the suspects were pointed out.
One of the cellphones stolen during the robbery was found in the BMW.
Four suspects aged 26, 36, 37 and 39 were arrested. The plasma television, cigarettes and one cellphone were recovered in one of the suspects’ house on Tuesday morning, 2 July.
