Guard robbed and tied up in Featherbrooke

A guard at a business park was tricked, robbed and tied up.

A guard working at a business park in Featherbrooke was duped and robbed by two people on Monday evening, 15 July.

According to a statement from the Muldersdrift Police Corporate Communications officer, Constable Slindile Ntuli, a 34-year-old guard working for Interactive Security at the business park in Eagle Road was in the guardroom at approximately 6.30pm on 15 July, when two people approached him.

They asked him to open the door for them, claiming that they had forgotten something in the basement.

However, when he opened the door for them, one of them pulled out a firearm and pointed it at him. They then took two cellphones, a two-way radio that belongs to the company, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The guard was forced out of the guardroom and his hands and feet were tied with cable ties before the robbers left the scene.

“The Muldersdrift Police are appealing to the members of the community to assist with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects,” said Ntuli.
