Tanker set on fire during protests along R24

The area is still considered dangerous and motorists should rather avoid it altogether.

Protesters set a tanker alight last night on the R24 between Magaliesburg and Tarlton.

The area is once again affected by protesters from the Orient Hills settlement.

Reports on Facebook also indicate that protesters are also attacking motorists on the alternative gravel routes in the area.

The road was once again dug up and shots were allegedly fired.

Broken down or slow moving vehicles are at risk of being attacked.

The alternative routes via the R400 and R563 roads, or through Randfontein, have their own inherent risks, especially at night.

“Please exercise caution in the area,” the post on Facebook reads.
