Woman assaulted during armed robbery at shopping center

The armed robbery occurred in one of their parking areas.

The management of Key West Shopping Centre confirmed that an armed robbery occurred in one of their parking areas this morning, 3 August at approximately 8:30am.

“Armed suspects assaulted the victim and instructed her to hand over an undisclosed amount of money. Paramedics attended to the scene promptly and the matter was handed over to the local police for further investigation,”  their statement read.

Key West Centre Management would like to remind shoppers to change their everyday routine especially when depositing money and to report any suspicious behaviour to security (situated around the Centre) and/ or Centre Management immediately.

“Safety of all patrons and shoppers is, and always remains, the Centre’s top priority and we will continue to remain alert.”
