#WeRead – author wants to share his years of business experience

Some of the most highly trained and knowledgeable people in the country hail from Krugersdorp.

This, more than most, can also be said about Bruce Clark. Starting out his career in the electrical and mechanical engineering field, he quickly picked up a whole lot more business wisdom than he was bargaining for.

“I understood early on that it’s important to understand all sides of a business, not just the engineering side, but the financial, marketing and logistics aspects as well,” Bruce said. He went on to do two more diplomas in engineering and one diploma in Modern Management. He soon started consulting to various companies about production, labour and cost management.

Today, at the age of 73, Bruce feels that it is time to pass on his decades of entrepreneurial knowledge to the masses.

“Young people walk out of college and have no idea how to start a business, because that’s not what colleges teach.”

Because of this, Bruce decided that it was time to write his own book on the subject. This is not a bloated textbook, like many others of its kind, it’s more a handy, carry with you pocket book, which reveals the very basics of business to its readers.

“I’m healthy and I still have a lot of years of work left in me. There’s so much I want to teach entrepreneurs just starting out, and this book is the start of that,” Bruce said. From here he wants to start doing public speaking as well, travelling the country to talk at colleges and universities, teaching young and aspiring entrepreneurs all that he knows.
