The investigative skills of the Kagiso Police paid off recently, when they arrested seven people on the M13 after they had robbed a man of his car keys and cash at gunpoint.
The man’s car ran out of fuel on 1 August at about 3.30am. Shortly after, a white Toyota Avanza without a number plate stopped behind him.
Six people exited the car and approached the man. They allegedly demanded his car keys and cash before they dragged him into the bushes and assaulted him.

They left the man in the veld but he managed to walk back to the road where police officers saw him, and he told them the whole story.
The police immediately jumped into action and chased the robbers. They managed to apprehend all seven suspects who were also in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
According to a statement from the Kagiso Police spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya, they are investigating another case in which a man was robbed on Kagiso Avenue near a filling station, also by seven people in a white Toyota Avanza.
“Brigadier Maduna has applauded his members for their swift response that resulted in the successful apprehension of the suspects,” said the statement.
