A woman was left stranded on the side of the road this morning, after her car was damaged by someone throwing rocks off the bridge above her.
Aletta de Villiers was on her way to work and said that she saw about 10 people on the bridge over the R28 heading towards Krugersdorp from Randfontein.
As the car in front of her was passing underneath the bridge, someone threw a rock down at the cars.

“It missed the car in front of me, but I drove over it,” she explained.
She said one of her tyres burst and her car swerved to the side of the road, where she came to a halt.
“The worst part of this was that I was alone and stranded next to the road, and everyone just drove past. No one stopped to help me,” she said.
The incident happened at about 6.50am while she was on her way to Johannesburg.
De Villiers said the wheel is damaged and the shock absorbers may also be damaged.
“I just want to warn others. Please be careful at the bridge between Randfontein and Krugersdorp. People are throwing rocks, and my car has suffered damage as a result,” said a message De Villiers sent out.
This comes after another car was reported to have also been hit with a rock on the N14/ Diepsloot off-ramp towards Krugersdorp. The victim was allegedly travelling from Lanseria Airport.
In the photos posted on Facebook, the second car’s windshield is damaged, the side window is broken, and the side mirror and the A-pillar are also damaged.
No further details were available, but the matter was reported to the Diepsloot Police.
