Eskom has confirmed that stage 2 rotational load shedding will continue today, 17 October.
Acting group chief executive for Eskom, Jabu Mabuza said on Wednesday that Eskom understands the inconvenience that comes with load shedding and they would like to assure their customers and South Africans at large that their objective is not to implement load shedding and if necessary, to do so at minimal levels with as much predictability as possible.
Some generating units have already returned to service and Eskom is expecting more units to return to service in the next few days.
Mabuza further stated that Eskom has been receiving additional diesel supplies from the major oil service providers, and as such, they are comfortable that they can build the necessary diesel and water reserves to be at an acceptable level over the weekend.
