The Post Office would like to remind its customers on the West Rand that they can now renew their post boxes and private bags at any post office, or on line at www.virtualpostoffice.co.za.
The cost of renewal is R535 per year. Pensioners can rent a postbox for a full year at a special discounted rate of R340.
This amount ensures complete security and privacy for your mail. Payment is due by 31 December 2019, after which the Post Office will start locking postboxes to remind customers that they should immediately renew their postboxes. After this date, an extra amount for late payment will be levied.
The Post Office says post boxes are readily available and safe. A postbox can be paid at any post office outlet countrywide; there is no need to pay at the outlet where your postbox is located.
Post boxes offer excellent security for mail items and are particularly useful to companies and individuals who receive important or sensitive items in the mail.
