The suspects fired two shots at the victims and tied them up with shoelaces. They were also assaulted with a shifting spanner. All the injured victims were taken to the hospital.
“Acting station commander, Captain Jones Baloyi, urges business owners to mount surveillance cameras and ensure that video tapes are replaced daily. He further encouraged business owners to keep their business premises well-lit inside and outside,” said the statement.
Baloyi also said that more awareness campaigns will be conducted to educate business owners on how to prevent incidents like this one.
The statement continues with an incident of house robbery and attempted murder on Java Road.
The 64-year-old victim who lives alone, was shot. The police were however only informed after the victim had been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
“No information has come to light at this stage and the investigation continues,” the statement explained.
