Have you seen these suspects?

A message doing the rounds say that the police are looking for suspects in connection with a string of hijackings.

A post has been doing the rounds on Facebook and WhatsApp, saying that the Trio Task Team on the West Rand is looking for suspects who pretend to be traffic officers.

The post states that the people involved are suspected hijackers who dress as and pretend to be traffic police.

They operate in Randfontein, Krugersdorp, Muldersdrift and the areas around the N12.

“In the last couple of weeks, four males and two females have been pretending to be traffic officers,” said the message.

They are allegedly using a white Polo, a white GTI Golf, a red Tazz, a green Rav 4, and a silver/ grey Hyundai i20 and have been involved in at least five cases in just the last week.

Another person wanted for questioning by the police.

The Muldersdrift police also released a statement confirming the four men and two women are wanted for questioning in regard with the hijackings.

The post asks anyone who can identify these suspects or has any information about them, to phone the Crime Stop line 08600 10111.
