At about 5am the next morning the victim managed to escape and ran to her friend’s house, where she was given some clothes to wear.
Later on she went to the Kagiso Police Station to report the matter. The man was traced and eventually arrested by the Kagiso Police.
The statement explained that this happened despite nationwide calls to stop abuse and violence against women and children.
“All those who defy such calls and continue to abuse women will face the might of the law,” warned the Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Themba Maduna.
