At only 11 years of age, Storm Venter, a learner from Monument Primary, has already achieved more than most adults have. This talented young girl has been invited to compete in the Festalonia in Italy (Sun of Italy) Choir competition in June 2020.
She is also one of 50 children from the Cantare Children’s Choir to be invited to compete in this competition.
But that is not where this little girl’s achievements end. Storm has been chosen to be part of the Cantare Children’s Choir for the fourth year in a row.
Storm was previously part of the Cantare Children’s Choir that competed at the World Choir Games in 2018, and received a silver and bronze medal in their two categories.
At the Raca Eisteddfod and National Eisteddfod, she excelled in singing and received a Platinum Accolade and a Diploma Accolade respectively.
In March 2020, she will also be competing in the Talent Africa Nationals and could possibly receive her Gauteng Colours.
Storm’s dad, Sean, and three other parents have opened a Back-a-Buddy page to raise funds for four of the children who have been invited to compete in Italy.
Storm, Elizabeth Greyvenstein, Catherine Greyvenstein and Eldone Smit need R160 000 between them to make the trip. R40 000 needs to be raised for each child.
According to the Back-a-Buddy page the four children each have a solo in the choir, which will be performed at the competition.
These four young talents have voices of angels and when they sing, they bring tears to people’s eyes. They have been featured on Mix FM and, after a short performance, listeners began calling in to say how honoured they were to have listened to these children.
