Car run raises funds to help shelter animals
Sports cars shining in the bright sun arrived in droves at the FORA shelter to raise much-needed funds for their animals.
Car enthusiasts arrived en masse with their powerful beasts roaring as they drove onto the Friends of Rescued Animals’ (FORA) grounds to help animals of another kind.
The animal shelter is battling constantly to find a balance between taking in as many animals as possible, and bringing in enough supplies to care for each.

Caitlin Wolff used to volunteer at the shelter, but always felt she needed to do something more. This year, the second annual FORA Charity Run was held with Car Motion bringing together multiple car clubs and drivers from the East and West Rand, and Pretoria.
Natasha Courtney and Jason Els together with Caitlin helped put the day together.

The entry fee was any form of animal food, toys, blankets, kennels, fencing or medicine. A raffle with a Regal Pet hamper as prize and FORA 2020 calendars brought in additional funds for FORA to help them function at full capacity.
A few hundred people came to the shelter in support of the cause, and quite a few goods and funds were donated. This will help FORA for a while, but the shelter will always need more. Donating is as simple as driving up to the FORA gate and dropping off anything you can spare.
