WATCH: Man climbs onto overhead cable gantry and allegedly steals cables in Krugersdorp

A video of a man allegedly stealing cables in the Krugersdorp area has gone viral.

A video of a man allegedly stealing overhead railway cables somewhere in Krugersdorp has gone viral.

The video shows the man climbing onto and balancing himself on the overhead cable gantry. After helping himself to the cables he climbs down again.

The crowd filming the man in broad daylight can be heard commenting on his actions, saying that he has a death wish.

They ask if they should call someone but say they do not know who to call.

The News is trying to obtain confirmation and comment from Eskom.

The incident apparently happened on 22 February and the video was posted yesterday, 24 February.

The comments on the post range from some saying “1000 ways to die”, to others asking, “Why has it become so easy to commit a crime? Terribly sad.”
